How to Obtain Case Information and Copies

Case information is available toll free through the court's automated Voice Case Information System (VCIS) at (866) 222-8029. This system is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A case number, complete name, or a social security number/ITIN is required to obtain case information. The information available from the automated system is:
- Case number;
- Name(s) of debtor(s), or principal party(ies);
- Date the case was filed, whether a voluntary or involuntary petition was filed, and the chapter under which the petition was filed;
- Name and phone number of the debtor’s attorney;
- Trustee's name;
- Name of the assigned Judge;
- Discharge and closing dates;
- Whether there are assets in the case;
- Case status; and
- Case disposition.
Online
Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) is a web-based system that allows users with an internet connection and a PACER account to view or print case documents online. PACER charges $0.10 per page retrieved. The charge for any single document is capped at $3.00, the equivalent of 30 pages. The cap does not apply to name searches, reports that are not case-specific, and transcripts of federal court proceedings. If a PACER account accrues a total of less than $30.00 of charges in any given quarter, fees are waived for that quarter. To sign up for a PACER account, register at http://www.pacer.gov. In Person
Most bankruptcy records can be viewed at no charge using the public access terminals in the Clerk’s Office, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.. The public access terminals may be used to print electronically available documents on the court’s printers at a cost of $0.10 per page. Other fees may apply, such as a $34.00 search fee if a clerk must spend substantial time locating the information. A copy fee of $0.50 per page applies if a clerk makes the copies. A $12.00 certification fee applies for each document that needs a certification.

Paper Copies
Online

Requests for paper copies of bankruptcy documents may also be made in person at the Clerk’s Office or by mail. All requests for paper copies made in person at the Clerk’s Office, by phone (405-609-5700) or via mail must include:
- Bankruptcy or Adversary Proceeding case number,
- Debtor(s) name,
- Docket number of document(s) to be copied, and
- Daytime telephone number and email address of the requesting party.

Certified Copies
Requests for certified copies of bankruptcy documents may be made in person at the Clerk’s Office, by phone (405-609-5700), email (helpdesk@okwb.uscourts.gov) or via mail to:

Because the documents being certified are sworn to be a true copy by the Court Clerk, requesting parties may not provide a copy of the document to be certified.
All requests for certified copies must include:
- Bankruptcy or Adversary Proceeding case number,
- Debtor(s) name,
- Docket number of document(s) to be copied and certified,
- Type of certified copies being requested – electronic or hard copy/paper, and
- Daytime telephone number and email address of the requesting party.

Upon receipt of the request, the Clerk’s Office will determine the total fees due and notify the requesting party by phone or email of the total fees due. Certification, photocopy fees and Search of Court Record fees, if applicable, must be paid in advance to the Clerk’s Office via in person, mail, or use of the Pay.gov Online Payment form. Electronic Certified Copies
- For electronic format, a $12.00 certification fee applies for each document that needs a certification. The $0.50 per page photocopy fee is waived.
- The certified copies are returned to the requesting party via email.
Hard Copy/Paper Certified Copies
- For hard copies, a $12.00 certification fee applies for each document that needs a certification. A photocopy fee of $0.50 per page applies and a $34.00 search fee may apply if a clerk must spend substantial time locating the information.
- The certified copies may be picked up in person at the Clerk’s Office or returned via mail.
- To have copies returned via mail, the requesting party must provide a self-addressed stamped envelope to the Clerk’s Office.

Archived Case Information (National Archives and Records Administration Federal Records Centers)
Cases and Documents filed on or before 1995 and closed for one year or more may be archived at the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) Federal Records Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
All requests for archived case information must include:
- Bankruptcy or Adversary Proceeding case number,
- Debtor(s) name,
- Docket number of document(s),
- Daytime telephone number and email address of the requesting party, and
- Type of retrieval (i.e., NARA Retrieval or Court Retrieval of case file).
To determine if a case file was transferred to NARA, contact the Clerk’s Office, by phone (405-609-5700) or email (helpdesk@okwb.uscourts.gov). The fee for a search of court records conducted by the Clerk’s Office is $34.00 per name or item and must be paid in advance to the Clerk’s Office via in person, mail, or use of the Pay.gov Online Payment form. NARA Retrievals
Copies of documents in closed cases at NARA may be ordered directly from NARA after the Clerk’s Office provides the requestor with the following archived case information:
- Transfer Number case retired to NARA under,
- Box number the case is filed in, and
- Location the transfer is stored at.
Once a requestor receives the above-listed archived case information from the Clerk’s Office, they may place a request directly with NARA for copies by completing the NARA Bankruptcy Cases Ordering Instructions NATF Form 90 (10-15) located at: https://www.archives.gov/files/research/court-records/form-90.pdf. Research and reproduction fees from NARA may apply. Court Retrievals from NARA
Case Files
Case files may also be retrieved from NARA back to the court for a fee of $70.00 by submitting an email to the Clerk’s Office at helpdesk@okwb.uscourts.gov. For retrievals involving multiple boxes, $43.00 is required for each additional box. Copies of any retrieved case document will cost $0.50 per page and are only available in paper format. Certified copies of those documents will cost $12.00 for each document plus a per page copy chart of $0.50. The fee for a search conducted by the Clerk’s Office is $34.00 per name or item.
SmartScan and SmartScan Plus (PDF via email)
If the document in the archived case file at NARA/FRC is 30 pages or less (SmartScan) or exceeding 30 pages (SmartScan Plus), not sealed, restricted or requiring certification, then it may be retrieved via SmartScan in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) via email. If your request is available through SmartScan and you would like to receive the document via email, the Clerk’s Office will contact you prior to processing the retrieval with the exact amount owed.
Upon receipt of the request via email for the court to retrieve the case file, the Clerk’s Office will determine the total fees due and notify the requesting party by email of the total fees due.
