REMINDER:  On April 3, 2023, the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts is hosting the 2023 Roadways to the Bench [“RTB”] Event. This event aims to further the judiciary’s goal of attracting the broadest possible pool of qualified applicants who seek appointments to Article I and Article III judgeships. The first event was held in Washington, D.C. and eighteen other city locations by the Bankruptcy Bench in 2019. Since that inaugural event, at least ten participants have assumed positions in the Article I and Article III Judiciary.

At least thirty-eight cities will be participating in the second RTB simulcast event on April 3, 2023, starting at 3:00pm CDT, including Oklahoma City at the William J. Holloway, Jr. U.S. Courthouse.  During the simulcast, Article I judges from the Western District of Oklahoma (Chief U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Sarah A. Hall, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Janice D. Loyd, U.S. Magistrate Judge Shon T. Erwin, U.S. Magistrate Judge Suzanne Mitchell, and U.S. Magistrate Judge Amanda Maxfield Green) will be present as well as Article I judges from the Northern and Eastern Districts of Oklahoma, including U.S. Magistrate Judge Jodi Jayne, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Terrence Michael, and U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Paul Thomas.  Following the simulcast, the judges will hold small group meetings among the participants interested in pursuing careers on the bench.  Please join us, and please encourage anyone interested in seeking appointment to an Article I or Article III judgeship to attend.  Click here for more information and here to register for the event.
