With amended Local Rules going into effect on September 1, 2024, the court shares the following updates, reminders, and observations with bankruptcy practitioners in the Western District of Oklahoma.
Notice of Opportunity for Hearing: For multiple motions, the court requires (i) the title to include “and Notice of Opportunity for Hearing” and (ii) immediately below the title the following statement:
NOTICE OF OPPORTUNITY FOR HEARING
Your rights may be affected. You should read this document
carefully and consult your attorney about your rights and the
effect of this document. If you do not want the Court to grant the
motion, or you wish to have your views considered, you must file a
written response to the motion with the Clerk of the United States
Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Oklahoma, 215 Dean
McGee Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73102 no later than [insert number]
days from the date of filing of the motion. You should also serve a
file-stamped copy of the response to the undersigned [and others who
are required to be served] and file a certificate or affidavit of service
with the Court.
[Note – this is a flat [insert number] days regardless of the manner of service.]

Local Forms: Reminder: LR 9009-1 provides that documents should substantially (not exactly) comply with the most current version of Official Forms and Local Forms. For example, Local Form 9013-1.L, includes, “The prevailing party will effectuate service of the order on all interested parties.” It is appropriate to replace “prevailing party” with “debtor” or “creditor” or “trustee” as applicable.
